Nintendo Wii U?s video-on-demand service delayed until December

Nintendo?s first-ever HD console Wii U has launched with fantastic results, but the excitement was kept from reaching cloud 9 because of the system coming out without the video application TVii.

The Japan-based company had confirmed last week that the service will not be available during the consoles launch in North America on November 18 and will in fact be patched into the system sometime during December.

Nintendo?s TVii service for Wii U is a revolutionary step to transform a gaming console into a complete entertainment package.

The video application will allow users to find, watch and engage with a wide range of television shows, movies and sporting events via the console?s unique tablet controller, the GamePad.

Users will also be able to access cable, satellite, and streaming sites, which include Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Videos, etc.

It is important to note that while Nintendo will not charge the user any additional fee or require any additional equipment, a subscription to these services is still needed to access them, a fact that everyone who has accessed them in the past is already well aware of.

One more really great thing about TVii is that it will allow users to connect with each other through Miiverse, Facebook and Twitter.

Once the TVii eventually becomes available, it is expected to give a huge boost to the appeal of the Wii U console by making it more than just a gaming console.

The video-on-demand application by Nintendo is believed to be an answer to the problem that is faced by nearly every family during the prime time, which television programme to watch as each member of the family has their own preference.

With TVii, the family members will not have to completely rely on one television set and will be able to catch their favourite show or film on the GamePad.

Wii U launched yesterday in North America, with the deluxe edition of the console bearing a price tag of $350, while the basic version available for $300.

The European and Australian launch of Nintendo?s next-generation console will take place on November 30, whereas it will hit Japan on December 8.
